Although the golf swing when performed by a professional golfer looks simple and effortless, it is anything but easy. In fact the golf swing is difficult. A good golf swing requires balance, flexibility, posture and coordination.
The main physical abilities of a powerful golf swing include balance. A good posture at address requires balance because of the forward bending position. The center of gravity is shifted forward and must be compensated for during address, backswing and downswing. Postural patterns require core muscles to fire and resist the backswing motions. All of these things are necessary to help maintain a good spine angle to allow for a powerful and pain-free golf swing.
